What Is Hypnosis?

A trained Hypnotist guides you through relaxation and focus exercises to help you enter a very relaxed state (sometimes referred at as a hypnotic state or trance). Hypnosis is a naturally relaxed state of mind which everyone has experienced in their lifetime. This is a state of consciousness where you are exceptionally alert and, at the same time, very relaxed, tuning out anything you are not focused on. In this relaxed state, you are more responsive to ideas and suggestions and therefore can make positive change. You are in a relaxed hypnotic state when you're concentrating on a job or a task you're doing, driving a car while absorbed in your thoughts, engrossed in a riveting film or reading an exciting book.

If you want to quit smoking, stop biting your nails, manage weight-loss, overcome sleep problems, reduce stress, reduce anxiety, overcome a phobia or a habit, stop procrastination, gain confidence, improve your self esteem or have a fear of public speaking for example, you are more receptive to initiating the changes you need to make when you’re in a hypnotic state. Think of it as planting a seed during your hypnotherapy session. Later, as you go about your daily activities, this “idea seed” continues to grow, giving you the inner drive you need to reach your goal! 

When you are in a under hypnosis, your body is relaxed and your mind is fully awake. This combination is ideal for cementing ideas such as, “I will lose weight,” or “I will free myself from the fear that’s holding me back.” Under hypnosis, you are extra receptive to the power of suggestion. Rest assured, you will never do anything that you don’t want to do. But you will be able to overcome mental blocks and emotional obstacles that are preventing you from living life to the fullest. Hypnosis is safe and effective and many hypnosis techniques are lots of fun.

My Philosophy & Approach

First and foremost, I believe that our amazing unconscious mind can help us achieve all of our deepest desires, as well as help us to stop doing harmful behavior that we no longer wish to do.   I believe that you are the healer, and answers are found within you. My role is to employ safe, effective hypnosis techniques designed to bring these answers to the surface. I act as a guide and facilitator for your healing.

I believe in a customized approach that treats each client according to his or her specific needs. That’s why either during a phone consultation, email questionnaire or your first session, I’ll perform a thorough analysis to uncover relevant information about your health and life history. Once the evaluation is complete, we can begin a method of therapy best suited for your particular needs. I continuously evaluate as we go, making changes as needed to maximize the benefits of hypnosis for you.
